I was born and raised in California, and I have lived in the Lodi Community for 31 years. I have raised my two children who are both graduates of Lodi's public school system. I am a graduate of Fresno State University and have been an educator for the past 37 years. I have taught diverse students in inner city schools and worked with migrant education in country schools. When I moved to Lodi Unified, I taught special education, but I found my true passion and calling while teaching science at Lodi Middle School for the past 27 years.
My children were active in community and travel sports activities as well as The Girl Scouts. I have been a parent volunteer at their schools and in the Community. While teaching I organized our winning Science Olympiad Teams as well as coordinated our participation in the SJCOE Dinner with a Scientist Program. I also worked closely with the Women's AAWU program so that our 7th grade girls could participate in Tech Trek, which is an amazing opportunity to encourage females in the areas of math, science, and STEM.
During my career, I participated on numerous district, and SJCOE committees. I was proud to be selected and serve for two, two-year terms on Lodi USD's RBET Committee. I was also on the Lodi Education Association's Executive Board for four years as well as being a site representative for 17 years. I have also worked as a mentor teacher, BTSA/TIP provider, and taught for the IMPACT Program at TCSJ for 17 years. Working with new educators has been a highlight of my career as well as being honored as Lodi USD's Teacher of the Year as well as San Joaquin County Teacher of the Year in 2000.
I spent a majority of my life giving to the students in my classroom and now as a new retiree, I feel it is important to give my service back to our community. Running for the School Board is a perfect opportunity to help Lodi become unified once again!

It was an honor running on the same ticket as Jeff Stroh and Courtney Porter but getting to serve with these gentlemen on the LUSD Board will be amazing!! Huges thanks to Lisa Wilkens and Nancy Gonzalez St. Claire for all your support.
Nothing quite like having your former student, who is now Lodi's Mayor congratulate you! Way to go Mikey Hothi, I am so very proud of you!
Celebrating my "Positive Posse" at The Oxford. I could not have been elected without all the help from these amazing people. The pushed, supported, advised, walked, and encouraged me throughout this whole process. Each of you has my eternal gratitude and heart felt respect!
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goal of making all LUSD students and families a priority. Your generous donation will fund our mission!
If we join together and make our voices heard, we can fight for the change we want to see!
